Manky
by joetwo
It is a manky day
Cold rain is pouring from the heavens
The sky is the colour of a bad mood
Torrents lash through the streets
And I have to go out in it
Things to do
No fighting it
No putting it off until later
Got to go now
It might be manky out there
But that doesn’t mean the world has to stop
Sorry your weather is so awful…
I first heard the word manky when I studied abroad in London…still not *quite* sure what it means…ah, memories…*sigh*… wish I was back there.
:no rest for the wicked: that tag reminded me of this song. Enjoy. Hope it makes your day a little better
Thanks Scriptor, it does!
heh-heh ‘The sky is the colour of a bad mood’ ~ yes, it is here too
Good to see our neighbours are suffering too!
I like the word Manky.
I thought you would! It means filthy!
Lovely poem. I’d kill for a bit of ‘mank’, we’re in the midst of a heatwave in Melbourne, Australia.
Be careful what you wish for! It sucks all the time!
Manky is a great word. Underused, like boggin
Indeed it is!
Great poem, Joe, and I also like the word “manky!” Now I know it’s meaning, too!
Part of the service
Thanks for reading!
Manky! That’s such a teenager word! Like ‘awesomesauce’ or ‘minging’
I love it!
