New hue

by joetwo

Life takes on a new hue

The actors performing on the stage of life seem altered

Similar in form but different in essence

As if viewed by different eyes

But that is exactly what has happened

The blinkers of ignorance have been removed by education

The world and its denizens crystal-clear through the finely ground lenses of experience

The world looks more real

And less fake

Seeming truths exposed as lies

Heroes as the villains they truly are

A beautiful world to begin with marred with the taint of reality, of memory

Part of me wants to go back

To return to the innocence of youth

But I cannot

I have tasted of the apple

And there is no going back

For such is the price to see the world more clearly

To view life as it really is.
