On the budget
Take what you will from me
I don’t need it
Do I really need to eat, to drink?
To have a roof over my head?
Of course not
You have far greater need than I
Gold palaces soon tarnish
They need constant supervision
It would not do to let then slip
These things cost money
I know that we have been living beyond our means
To many sick demanding medicine
An excess of children buying shoes
Simply not sustainable anymore
Something had to give
We all have to do our bit
Except for you of course
For a king needs his palace
We subjects are only too happy to chip in.
