Blasts From the Past

by joetwo

Sometimes they just hit you

When you’re out walking

Unsuspecting, unprepared

They come out of the blue

A smell, a voice, a sound

Bringing forth a torrent of memory

A blast from the past

Returning you to a time long since gone

Another time, often another you

Reawakened from many years of slumber

Given a chance to be relived for just a moment

Before returning to their hiding place of memory

And you are free

To go about your business

With maybe a twinkle in your eye

The tiny star of remembrance
