I drop the granules into the ceramic bowl
Using all my strength, I crush them into powder
Make it finer
With furious purpose
Thinking of the solution
The syringe
The high to follow

Made for Trifecta’s Week Fifty Four. The goal is to make a piece using the word crush defined as to reduce to particles by pounding or grinding
Whoa, intense and very good (:
Thanks! I wanted to keep this one short.
Like the phrase “furious purpose”; the action is controlled and clinical, but the end result is far from.
There can be a single mindedness to addicts when it comes to their fix.
I’m related to some addicts so your story hit a sensitive nerve for me. Good writing, just a sore subject.
Sorry about that.
Very good writing!
Thank you! Appreciate it!
An interesting take on the word. Very real.
Thank you for reading.
Oh, the irony of the line “thinking of the solution”. Not much of a solution when it causes more problems.
Thanks
Oh, that furious purpose! Excellent.
Thanks glad you liked it!
I’m in the “furious purpose” camp — I loved that line, but also something about “make it finer” really worked for me, too, the play on ideas of class maybe. Good stuff!
Thank you. Glad to get you thinking!
Lovely word choices — very, very precise.
Thanks! I try!
I like the ambiguity of ‘solution’. Good take on the topic.
Thanks! Appreciate it.
